This is a work in progress.
This is a list of all the standard pieces of kit that I use. There may be multiples of different things. It just depends on what I need for a given hike. I do have a fondness for camp stoves and have tried many.
I don't necessarily believe in spending a fortune on equipment. A lot of cheaper products are also amazing. Decathlon is a firm favourite for clothing and equipment.
# My standard equipment
## Soto Stormbreaker Stove
https://sotooutdoors.eu/en/produkt/stormbreaker/
A small, lightweight multi-fuel stove. Flexible, and well made.
## MSR Pocket Rocket Deluxe
https://www.msrgear.com/ie/stoves/canister-stoves/pocketrocket-deluxe-stove/10955.html
The perfect small, light stove.
## Jetboil Zip
https://www.jetboil.co.uk/products/zip-cooking-system
A great little all in one stove pot system that is light and great for hiking trips.
## Trangia 27
https://trangia.se/en/
They are not exactly small, but they are flexible & practically bulletproof. It will not let you down.
## MSR Hubba NX (2P)
https://www.msrgear.com/ie/tents/backpacking-tents/hubba-hubba-nx-2-person-backpacking-tent/06204.html
I love this tent. It is well made, and will stand up to a lot. I haven't tried it in snow, but it has no problem with the inclement weather of Wales in winter.
## Decathlon USB C Head torch
https://www.decathlon.co.uk/p/rechargeable-headlamp-600-lumens-hl900-usb-v3-white/_/R-p-327493?mc=8600660&c=vermilion_black_carbon+grey
Replaceable USB-C battery. 600 Lumens. It works a treat.
## Flextail Zero Pump
https://www.flextail.com/products/zero-pump
The smallest, most flexible sleeping pad pump. I love it. I wouldn't go out without it. I just wish it pumped to a slightly higher PSI like the Flextail Tiny Pump 2X.
## Scarpa Terra Boots.
https://www.scarpa.co.uk/products/terra-gtx
These were the most comfortable boots I tried when shopping. They have survived everything I have thrown at them. I love these.
## Nemo Riff Sleeping Bag
https://www.nemoequipment.com/collections/all-mens-sleeping-bags/products/riff-mens-endless-promise-down-sleeping-bag
In my opinion, this is the perfect sleeping bag. The gills unzip to release heat. The shape is amazing if you sleep on your side. It is also pretty small and light.
## Therm-a-Rest Compressible Pillow
https://www.cotswoldoutdoor.com/p/therm-a-rest-compressible-pillow-medium-B4KC390020.html?colour=13563
I have the Medium & the Large. Both are amazing. They help so much to get a decent night's sleep. Medium is the best in my opinion. The Large is just a bit too bulky to carry in a backpack.
## Lafagiet USB-C Explorer Electric Arc Lighter
https://amzn.eu/d/5jRHJxW
This is one of very few USB-C Arc lighters. It has a rugged exterior with an extendable lighter end. I have used this for over a year with no issues. It is a cheap product, but is a fantastic design. Great for camping.
# Things I really want to try out
1. Durston X-Mid Pro 2
https://durstongear.com/products/x-mid-pro-2-tent-ultralight-thruhiking
This has a lot of people raving about it. I would love to try it out. Difficult to justify the price.
2. Helinox Chair Zero
https://helinox.co.uk/products/chair-zero
I really want one of these. This would save 500g on the chair currently use.
# Advice
Shop around. There are often deals to be had. I have rarely paid full price for anything large. I have even purchased second hand items from eBay.
